Isle of Palms bank owned and short sales are my most asked about type of resort/second home.
As of this post there are only 21 short sales and bank owned homes for sale on Isle of Palms including Wild Dunes Resort
So far this year we have seen 23 short sales close on Isle of Palms.
Isle of Palms gets my vote for best buy in Charleston. If you have ever wanted a home on Isle of Palms or any of the Charleston area beaches now is the time to take a swing.
Yes, prices may fall a couple more percentage points in certain price-points but the lion share of price-fall on Isle of Palms is over.

Isle of Palms and Wild Dunes is probably one of the hardest hit areas in Charleston in regards to short sales and bank owned homes. When the economy went side-ways, it took a lot of second home buyers with it. A lot of people that bought at the top of the market got stuck, and if forced to sell due to financial reasons, have taken a real hit. With that being said, IOP, in my humble opinion, has the greatest potential for strong rebound, as the economy continues to recover. Great island, close to a lot of stuff and a short drive to Historic Charleston.
If I had money to invest anywhere in Charleston area real estate, this would be the place.
